REPORT: Chris Wilder Has Left His Role At Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is set to leave Bramall Lane, according to multiple reports in the English media.

The Blades have yet to officially confirm the news but it looks as though the 53-year-old’s five-year reign in charge of the Yorkshire club has come to an end.

Wilder guided United to a ninth-place finish in the Premier League last season, but the club have been rooted to the bottom of the table for the majority of this campaign, with relegation almost certain.

However, it was expected that Wilder was planning to stay and help the Blades regain their top-flight status next season, with the head coach having spoken about his plans to shift out a number of players in the summer.

There have, though, been reports over the last week that Wilder’s relationship with owner Prince Abdullah has broken down and that may be the reason why he has decided to fall on his sword.
