Blades Still Owe Money For Signings Worth 69M

Sheffield United have yet to finish paying for four signings worth a total of £69m, according to reports.

The Blades agreed to pay in installments for the likes of Sander Berge, Rhian Brewster, Oli McBurnie and Anel Ahmedhozic, and they have yet to complete their payments.

McBurnie was signed from Swansea in the summer of 2019, and it is surprising to hear that the full amount hasn’t yet been paid for the Scottish international three and a half years later.

Even Berge joined from Genk for £22m almost three years ago while Brewster made the switch from Liverpool for £23m about nine months later.

Ahmedhodzic was snapped up for a more modest fee of around £4m in the last summer transfer window, with all four having played their part under manager Paul Heckingbottom this season, as the Blades push for promotion.

We shall have to wait and see whether these outstanding payments will affect the prospects of a potential takeover.
