Sheffield United have signed fullback Zach Giggs after he was released by Manchester United.
The 16-year-old, who is the son of Red Devils legend Ryan, had been on trial with the Blades, and he impressed academy staff enough to secure himself a contract with the Yorkshire club.
Giggs came through the ranks at Carrington, where his father spent nearly three decades as a player and coach, but he didn’t do enough to make the grade.
The defender is already a Wales Under 17 international, and he clearly is a player with a lot of promise. While he is mostly used at left-back, he can also be deployed in the centre of defence or, occasionally, on the right flank.
Giggs will be looking for a fresh start at Bramall Lane, where he will be hoping to make his way through the youth ranks to become a first-team player in the next few years.
