Blades Plot £2m Offer For Celtic Ace As Wilder Targets First Summer Signing

Sheffield United are lining up an offer for Celtic winger Scott Sinclair, according to reports in the Scottish media.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is eyeing the 30-year-old as a potential recruit to strengthen his squad ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

Celtic triggered an extension in Sinclair’s contract back in May to keep him at the club until next summer.

However, it seems the Scottish champions only extended his deal in order to stop him from leaving for nothing. It is believed that they would sell up for only £2m.

Sinclair played regularly for Celtic last season, scoring 17 goals and making six assists in 55 appearances, but his form has dropped since his arrival at the Scottish club three years ago.

He scored 25 goals during his first campaign in Scotland, but that dipped to 18 in his second season.

United won’t be the only team in for Sinclair, though, with Championship side Middlesbrough also reportedly keen on the player.
