Blades Owner Says Wilder Will Have Final Say On Signings Amid Interest In Manchester United Star

Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah says the club won’t force any signings on manager Chris Wilder during the January transfer window.

There have been reports that some of the club’s board want the Blades to snap up Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo in the New Year but Abdullah has confirmed that Wilder will be the one picking the targets:

“We will have some names that Chris will come to us with and we will go from there. I don’t think we will force. We will have two loans. I don’t like to talk about specific players but I am sure we will try to pick the best option available.”

With one point from twelve games, it is difficult to see how the Yorkshire club can turn things around, especially as Abdullah has confirmed there will be no permanent signings next month.

As Abdullah says, the plan is to sign two players on loan; one of which will have an option to buy at the end of the season if they stay in the Premier League.

Wilder has bemoaned his lack of options at centre-back so a recruit in that area is likely but it remains to be seen which other area United will look to strengthen.
