Blades Make First Move To Secure Double Deal For Manchester United Stars

Sheffield United have made contact with Manchester United about signing Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams, according to reports in the English media.

Lingard was believed to be in talks with Nice over a potential move to France but it seems the Blades are trying to muscle in on negotiations as they look to strengthen their options in midfield.

Manager Chris Wilder is thought to be keen on snapping up an attacking midfielder who can chip in with a few goals and Lingard would certainly fit the bill in that regard.

The move for Williams is slightly more surprising considering Wilder already has the likes of George Baldock, Enda Stevens, Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe who can operate in the wingback roles.

Williams is believed to be available on loan, and he was heavily linked with a switch to Southampton, but it appears the Saints have moved on to other targets giving the Blades a clear run to sign him on a temporary basis.
