Blades Could Miss Out On Scottish Starlet As Premier League Giants Enter Battle Following Scouting Trip

Sheffield United will have to see off Newcastle if they want to land Kilmarnock striker Bobby Wales, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Blades have been keeping tabs on 17-year-old in recent months but the Magpies have been undertaking scouting missions of their own.

It is believed that a scout was in attendance to see Wales play for Kilmarnock’s reserves against St Johnstone earlier this week. The teenager would have impressed observers after getting two assists in the match.

Newcastle have already snapped up his former teammate Charlie McArthur, and it is believed that could give them the edge on the Blades in negotiations.

On top of that, Kilmarnock can hold out for a sizeable fee as Wales has signed a professional contract, so it’s unlikely that Paul Heckingbottom’s side will be able to compete with a team like Newcastle who have billions of pounds in the bank.
