Blades Could Be Pipped To Signing Of Scottish Wonderkid As Premier League Giant Lines Up Bid

Sheffield United could lose out to Everton in the battle for Aberdeen forward Lewis Pirie, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Blades scouted the 15-year-old when he was playing for Scotland’s Under 16 side during the last international break but it appears as if Everton are now the team likeliest to make a move for him.

Frank Lampard’s side watched Pirie play for Aberdeen’s Under 16s during a recent game against Dundee United, with the Dons coming out 5-2 winners.

It is believed that the teenager impressed so much that the Toffees are now prepared to make an offer for him, as they look to beat the Blades to the player’s signature.

Aberdeen are expected to put up a fight in order to keep Pirie, though, as he is seen as having first-team potential. Whether United will make their own approach for the youngster, we shall have to wait and see.
