Blades Consider January Swoop For Wales International Defender

Sheffield United are interested in making a move for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon in the January transfer window, according to reports in the English media.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is reportedly looking to improve his squad’s depth at centre-back with John Egan, Chris Basham and Jack O’Connell having had to play almost every game so far this season.

Rodon has been performing well for Swansea in the Championship, with the Welsh international having started every game in the league for the Swans up until this weekend.

However, the 22-year-old did not feature against Cardiff yesterday, and it has now been confirmed that he will miss the next two months with a tendon injury that requires an operation.

Rodon should, though, be back in action before the end of the year, and it will be interesting to see whether the Blades do make a bid for the centre-back when he returns to fitness in January.
