Blades Battle Three Championship Sides In Race For Bournemouth Star

Sheffield United are leading the race for Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter, according to the Irish Independent.  The 29-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements by the Cherries after spending last season out on loan at Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds do retain an interest in signing him on a permanent basis, and there are also two other Championships clubs who will be competing with the Blades.

Fulham and Stoke City are both said to be in the running, and the Cottagers could prove a tempting move as Arter already lives in London.

With Chris Wilder’s side the only one of the four that can offer Premier League football, though, it may be enough to sway the player’s decision.

The midfielder has spent the last nine years on the South Coast but his last game for Bournemouth was back in January 2018. Last season for Cardiff, the Republic of Ireland international made 25 appearances, scoring no goals and contributing just one assist.
