Blades Agree Club Record Fee For 24-Goal Championship Striker

Sheffield United have agreed a club-record fee for Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie, according to reports in the English media.

The Blades have had a £20m offer accepted for the 23-year-old, who will now travel up to Yorkshire for a medical in the next couple of days.

It is believed United will pay £17.5m upfront, plus £2.5m in add-ons, for McBurnie with the Scottish international poised to become the club’s eighth signing of the summer.

The forward scored 24 goals in the Championship last season, with manager Chris Wilder building a formidable forward line, which now includes the previous record signing Lys Mousset, captain Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick.

United have also strengthened in midfield with the arrivals of Callum Robinson, Ben Osborn and Luke Freeman this summer. They have also shored up the backline with former player Phil Jagielka having joined on a free transfer from Everton, with goalkeeper Dean Henderson also having returned on loan from Manchester United.
