Arsenal Tasking New Scouts With Assessing 35M Rated Blades Midfield General Ahead Of Summer Swoop

Arsenal have been giving potential new recruits to their scouting department the task of analysing Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, according to The Athletic.

The Gunners are currently looking at appointing a new group of younger scouts and, in an unusual move, they have been asked to look at the Norwegian international as a test case.

It seems clear then that Berge is being seriously considered by the London club as a target ahead of the summer transfer window.

There have been rumours in recent days that the 23-year-old has a release clause that could see him be sold for £12m, but local media reports suggest that this is an inaccurate figure.

Berge does have a buyout fee but it is believed to be £35m, and the Blades are expected to tell prospective suitors, like Arsenal, to pay the clause if they want to sign the player at the end of the season.
