Blades Back Away From Deal To Sign 40M Rated Winger

Sheffield United have opted against making a move to re-sign Bournemouth winger David Brooks, according to Yorkshire Live.

The Cherries are reportedly holding out for at least £40m for the 23-year-old, and the Blades have decided there is no way they can afford the Welshman after shelling out on Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

Manchester United have also taken a keen interest in Brooks in the past but it is thought that Bournemouth’s asking price has put off most interested parties.

The Blades would have had a better chance than most of getting a good fee for the player. They could have waived their right to the sell-on clause they included in the deal that saw the Wales international move to the Vitality Stadium in the first place two years ago.

However, despite the domestic transfer window being open until Friday week, it appears Chris Wilder’s side have decided the move for Brooks will prove too costly.
