Ben Brereton-Diaz
Chile’s adopted son, Ben Brereton Diaz, is the first player on the list. He’s developed into one of the best strikers in the league over the past couple of years – this season, he’s got nine goals and four assists in 27 Championship games.
A hard working centre forward who is a nightmare for any defender to come up against, Brereton-Diaz has been at Blackburn Rovers since 2019. He’s been linked with several moves to the Premier League, though none have materialised.
According to Transfermarkt, he’s valued at around £14 million. At just 23, he’s still got plenty of time to grow into an even more effective attacking force.
Sander Berge
Sheffield United’s entry on the list, the imposing Sander Berge has been sensational since joining the Blades back in 2020. A physical midfielder with skills to back it up, he’s an ideal central player for the modern game.
The Belgian has made 19 league appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s this season, scoring four goals and racking up three assists. Additionally, he’s only 24 – he still has some growing to do. He has been linked to Arsenal on numerous occasions and it would not be a surprise to see him join a Premier League club.

The only defender on the list, Max Aarons has been linked with a move to the Premier League on several occasions. For now, however, he remains a Norwich player.
Transfermarkt states that, at an approximate market value of £16 million, Max Aarons is by far Norwich’s most valuable player. The only player who comes close is Josh Sargent, who is valued at £10.5 million.
This season, Aarons has made 27 appearances for Norwich in the Championship. In those games, he’s scored one goal and registered two assists.
Joao Pedro
Joao Pedro is the second most valuable player in the Championship, says Transfermarkt. He has an approximate price of £17.5 million.
He signed for Watford in 2020 – since then, he’s made 89 appearances for the Hornets, scoring 20 goals. This season, he’s scored eight goals and notched up two assists in 20 league games.

Ismaïla Sarr
That’s right – both of the Championship’s most valuable players are at Watford! Ismaïla Sarr is the more expensive of the two, with an estimated market value of £19.5 million.
He’s almost constantly rumoured to be leaving Vicarage Road. Despite this, he is still contracted to the Hornets – for now. Manchester United have been linked with him numorous times
